RemoteKnack operates remoteknack.com and introduces people in Australia to employers advertising work that can be done from home. We sit between the two — we are not the business that hires you. What follows is a plain account of the information we hold, who else touches it, and what you can require us to do about it.
Applications come through a WhatsForm form reachable at whatsform.com/l3plyu, headed “Australia Jobs Application”. Its fields are:
That is the complete list. No other question is asked of you, on the page or behind it.
Loading any page here produces the usual server entries: the IP address in use, browser and device details, the address requested, and the time. Our host writes these automatically as part of delivering the page.
This site turns away traffic from a list of countries outside our hiring markets. That check reads only the country your connection appears to be in, as reported by our host. It does not store your address, it does not log your visit against your name, and it plays no part in whether an application is accepted.
Passwords, security codes, BSB or account numbers, card details, identity documents, tax file numbers, and payments of any sort are never requested by us. A message asking for any of those in the name of RemoteKnack did not come from us, and we would like to hear about it.
So that someone can read your application, reply to you on WhatsApp, and pass what you sent to the employer whose listing you answered. Your email address gives us a fallback route if WhatsApp will not reach you.
We do not sell applicant details, rent them out, or exchange them with anyone. You are not enrolled in a mailing list. If another employer later asks to see your application, we come back to you and ask before anything moves.
The employer behind the listing you answered. At the point of introduction we state that RemoteKnack is the introducer and that the employer is the hiring party, so nobody is left guessing about who is responsible for what. The remaining parties involved are our service providers, listed below.
No analytics property and no advertising conversion tag is installed on this site at the time of writing. Should that change, this page changes first.
Where a court order, a lawful regulatory request or a statutory obligation requires disclosure, we comply. Nothing else causes your details to leave us.
Applying happens in two moves. The form is submitted, then WhatsApp opens carrying a message written in advance. Nothing is transmitted by opening it; you press send, and you are free to reword or delete the draft first. Your form entry has already arrived at WhatsForm regardless of whether you continue.
Our pages set no tracking cookies of their own. The embedded form may set a cookie or similar identifier in order to function. Blocking or clearing cookies does not prevent you from applying.
Applications are held for twelve months measured from your last contact with us, then deleted. Server logs are retained up to thirty days. Backups may retain a copy for up to a further thirty days before being cycled.
The site is served over HTTPS, applications are reachable only by the people who answer them, and those people sign in individually. That is the honest extent of it. We are not going to describe protections we have not implemented.
Once an employer receives your application, it holds a copy under its own arrangements. Your WhatsApp thread lives with Meta and on your own phone. Deleting our record does not touch either of those, and we would rather say so than imply we can erase every trace.
Email careers@remoteknack.com to see what we hold, to have it corrected, or to have it erased. You may also object to us holding it. We reply within thirty days. An introduction already made cannot be undone, though we will pass on that you have withdrawn.
We handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988. Raise any concern with us first; we will review it properly rather than sending a stock reply.
Where an incident is likely to cause serious harm, we contain it, assess it quickly, and notify you and the appropriate authority under the notifiable data breaches scheme. The same applies if a provider reports an incident affecting records held for us.
Our providers operate internationally, so your details may be processed on servers outside Australia. Where that occurs it is governed by the contractual protections those providers apply generally. We do not relocate applicant records ourselves.
Applications are read by a person. There is no scoring system, and hiring decisions belong to the employer.
This service is for adults. Applications from anyone under eighteen are not knowingly kept, and are deleted if found.
Write to careers@remoteknack.com setting out what happened. A person reviews it and answers you directly. Your rights under Australian law are unaffected by anything written here.
If you want to know precisely which details went to a particular employer, and on what date, ask and we will tell you. There is nothing in your own file that we would withhold from you, and in practice knowing what the employer was sent is the quickest way to clear up a misunderstanding about hours or about which listing you answered.
We do not run marketing campaigns to applicants. You will not receive promotional email from us, you will not be added to a broadcast list on WhatsApp, and your number is not used for anything except replying to your own application.
Any new provider, or any change in how your details are handled, appears on this page before it takes effect, with the date above updated accordingly.
